Introduction
Lupus Europe (owner of Lupus 100) is the European umbrella organisation that brings together national lupus patient organisations from across Europe. They are a non profit independent organisation aimed to support and empower our national organisation members, sharing information with them and promoting better patient-centred processes, both within the healthcare field and at a political level.

OUR WORK

What We Did

The primary challenge of Lupus 100 was to design an accessible platform providing accurate, reliable information in multiple languages, starting with English, while ensuring the content remained user-friendly and non-overwhelming. To address this, Atomic proposed user case studies to streamline navigation, ensuring users could access the information they needed with just one click via an accordion interface. Additionally, to display the multiple language options effectively, Atomic suggested a straightforward landing page featuring all available languages alongside their respective flags, making it easy for readers to select and continue seamlessly.

THE RESULT

Result

Atomic significantly improved the user experience (UX) and user interface (UI) of the Lupus information website, making it much easier for visitors to access vital details about the condition. A key feature of the redesign was the introduction of a tabular format for the “100 Questions about Lupus,” allowing users to quickly find answers to important questions without needing to scroll through lengthy text. This clear and organised structure enhanced the overall navigation, making the information far more accessible.

Additionally, Atomic expanded the site’s reach by translating the content into 15+ languages, with a simple, intuitive landing page that enabled visitors to easily select their preferred language. This multilingual approach ensured that critical information about Lupus was accessible to a global audience.

Atomic also incorporated a warm, bright colour palette and minimalist text sections to create a welcoming and easy-to-read design. This approach prevented information overload, allowing users to absorb content at their own pace. Throughout the site, emphasis was placed on the credibility of the information, ensuring that all details were backed by world-class doctors. By blending an intuitive layout with reliable medical expertise, Atomic created a user-friendly platform that effectively communicates essential information about Lupus.
